The Immortal Rules (Blood of Eden #1)

The Immortal Rules (Blood of Eden, #1)The Immortal Rules Summary:
To survive in a ruined world, she must embrace the darkness….

Allison Sekemoto survives in the Fringe, the outermost circle of a walled-in city. By day, she and her crew scavenge for food. By night, any one of them could be eaten. Some days, all that drives Allie is her hatred of them—the vampires who keep humans as blood cattle. Until the night Allie herself dies and becomes one of the monsters. Forced to flee her city, Allie must pass for human as she joins a ragged group of pilgrims seeking a legend—a place that might have a cure for the disease that killed off most of civilization and created the rabids, the bloodthirsty creatures who threaten human and vampire alike. And soon Allie will have to decide what and who is worth dying for… again.

The Immortal Rules Review:
I heard of this series through the back of one of her Iron Fey books. This book shows that even in a world that is corrupted people are willing to die for each other and that everything comes with sacrifices and pain. I really feel in love with all the characters even the psychotic killers in this book because the characters all had a depth and people can relate to them. Probably don't believe me in that.

Sooo many books I've read have had female characters that are so weak and wouldn't be able to survive by themselves. Not including the books that I have reviewed. Allison can definitely survive by herself and acts sometimes like she doesn't have limits. She knows what she has to protect herself and is incredible strong to survive what she has gone through. She acts like she is all tough but under all the layers she has a heart that wants to be loved and can't face hurt. She says she doesn't want to be a vampire but when faced with the chance to live again she takes just like almost every other human being would do in her case. I like Julia Kagawa mixed her feelings with her hard exterior.

Zeke is like her polar opposite and they say opposites attract. He really is absolutely adorable and he's really tough at the same time. He's the glue that holds everybody together. And he, like all the other campers have already gone through so much and they still have to face so much more. I love all the kids in this book especially Caleb, they are all so innocent and loving and trusting. You don't want them to face this kind of pain ever. I even like Jackal because even if he's twisted, he's pretty epic you've gotta admit. And Kanin just has this air of coolness and I hope to see a lot more of him and Jackal in the next book. The end of this book is absolutely amazing and I was eagerly waiting for the second book to come out. I really wanted to see how this would play out.
